Specific diets/plans for diabetics? IMPORTANT?

Really..come on... why can't she make up her own meal plan made up off the list of what she is allowed to eat, and what SHE likes to eat? Its not brain surgery.. is she that lazy? She might not like someone elses food outline, so tell her to make her own like other people have to do.
