How much of the Bible is actually true and actually happened?

I used to believe everything in the bible when I was 10 because my mom told me so and shes a devout christian, but now that I am 16 I am having doubts and my mom just says its a matter of faith and not taking everything school says as literal. So, how much of the bible is accurate and actually happened? I am confused.
