What position should i play?

I want to play high school football. Im currently in eight grade. goin into ninth next year. I want to atleast play freshman. but i have never played youth/popwana. I have played flag and ended up being very good. I play tackle with a bunch of friends who play regular football. they are extremely good. they all say i should play next year but what position?.Im good at and Inside Slot Reciever. My friends call me a Wes Welker. I would love to play that but then i dont know if i should play offense or deffense or what. I am 13 years old. 5ft 5 inches and 116 pounds. Im not extremely fast but i have what my friends called football smarts. Could anyone help me??
